Biography

Dr. S. Giriprasad is an academician, researcher, and academic leader with over 17 years of experience across affiliated institutions, autonomous colleges, and university systems. He currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Dr. NGP Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. His areas of expertise include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Real-time Video Analysis for ADAS and AI-driven Healthcare Applications. He holds a Ph.D. from Anna University, specializing in Machine Learning-based Intelligent Video Surveillance Systems. He has published over 22 research articles in SCI/SCIE and Scopus-indexed journals, reviewed more than 30 manuscripts for leading publishers including Springer, Elsevier, and Wiley, and holds an Indian patent. With extensive academic leadership experience as Head of Department (ECE), IQAC Coordinator, NBA Coordinator, Board of Studies Coordinator, and Institutional Academic Coordinator, he has made significant contributions to accreditation, curriculum development, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and quality assurance initiatives. His diverse experience across affiliated, autonomous, and university ecosystems provides him with a comprehensive understanding of academic governance, institutional development, and accreditation frameworks. His current research focuses on Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare, Medical Image Analysis, Biomedical Signal Processing, Intelligent Diagnostic Systems, and Smart Healthcare Technologies, with the goal of developing innovative, technology-driven solutions that create meaningful societal impact.
