Biography
Dr. Krishnamoorthi Murugasamy received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India, in 2002, and his Master of Engineering degree from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, India, in 2004. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Anna University, Chennai, India, in 2014. With over 22 years of academic experience, he is currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Information Technology at Dr. N. G. P. Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, a position he has held since September 2021. His research interests encompass Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Optimization Techniques, with a particular emphasis on data-driven intelligent systems. Dr. M. Krishnamoorthi has made significant contributions to research and innovation, holding three patents, including one granted patent, and publishing more than 50 research articles in reputed journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. He is a recognized Research Supervisor under Anna University, Chennai, currently guiding eight Ph.D. scholars, while four research scholars have successfully completed their doctoral studies under his guidance. He is a life member of professional bodies such as the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Institution of Engineers (India) [IE(I)]. He has secured research grants amounting to ₹20 lakhs from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). In addition, he has received a total of ₹5 lakhs from DRDO and AICTE-ATAL for organizing Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs). His academic and research activities are focused on advancing intelligent computing technologies, fostering industry-academia collaboration, and promoting quality technical education and research.
