Short Bio

Dr. Praveen Chakkravarthy received his Bachelors (B.E ECE) degree from the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India ,Masters (M.E Communication Systems)and Ph.D. degree (Wireless Communication) from Anna University , Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. His research interests are in the area of next-generation wireless cellular and WiFi networks, with special emphasis on various 5G technologies such as massive MIMO, mmWave MIMO, FBMC, NOMA, Full Duplex and others. He has Strong experimental, computational, and analytical skills. Successfully deployed 7 sponsored projects from DST NeWGen IEDC and currently working on 3 DST projects and received Rs.7 Lakhs fund from Meity under TIDE 2.O Scheme. Successfully promoted 5 Student Start up in the campus and currently working towards establishing 4 student start ups in the campus and currently working on Rs. 3 Lakhs worth Consultancy Project. As principal investigator, developed 7 products in the field of Energy, Agriculture and Environmental Sustainability as per industrial standards. Played a key role in establishing IoT workspace and Received 2 Crore funding from M/s. INTEL inc. Under UNIVERSITY RESEARCH PROGRAMME (INTEL Tools) in the span of 5 years. He has published more than 18 Patents and received grant for a patent. RECOGNITION, HONORS & AWARDS: Received award for “Fostering and ecosystem bridging government, industry and academia” from Central Government of India, Texas Instruments and Department of Science and Technology for participating in India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2018. Received award from Texas Instruments for “Outstanding contribution towards young engineering students to innovate and create ground-breaking solutions” for consecutive 5 years 2019, 2020 & 2021,2022 & 2023. Received Best Project award from Government of India and Department of Science and Technology for developing Low Cost “SMART METERING INTERFACE FOR CONVENTIONAL ENERGY METERS” in the year 2021. Received appreciation from Electronics Corporation of India Ltd, Hyderabad for developing Low Cost “SMART METERING INTERFACE FOR CONVENTIONAL ENERGY METERS” with limited resources and time in the year 2021.
