Short Bio
Dr.NGP Educational Institutions. He served as the Principal of Dr.N.G.P. Arts and Science College for a period of 10 academic years and also served in Senate, Syndicate and other Statutory bodies of Bharathiar University. He obtained 27 years of service in teaching M.B.A., MS Healthcare Management and Ph.D. Programs. He obtained his MBA from P.S.G. College of Technology, M.A. Economics from University of Madras and also a Ph.D. from Bharathiar University. He successfully produced 10 PhDs to his credit. Dr. P. R. Muthuswamy published 3 books and good number of articles in reputed journals and conferences. He conducted 53 training sessions and workshops on current topics in management at various industries and hospitals. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has undergone a Training Programme of National Accreditation Board for Education and Training of Quality Council of India, New Delhi and also a Development programme at National Institute of Advanced Studies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He worked in various positions which include Dean of Health and Hospital Administration programme of St. Joseph’s University USA conducted at Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital, Coimbatore. He was invited twice by The Research Grants Council, School of Business of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology for knowledge exchange in the area of strategic management. He is a life member of Coimbatore Management Association and presently the president of Rotary Club of Coimbatore East. He visited many countries for knowledge exchange programs He is the recipient of GRD Best Management Faculty Award from Coimbatore Management Association., P.K. Das Best Teacher and Life Time Achievement Award from Nehru Group of Institutions and also Rotary’s Nation Builder Award. He was the President of Association of Principals of Bharathiar University for 6 years and also the Vice – President, Southern Zone of All India College Principals Association. His areas of expertise include Human Resource Development, Healthcare Management and Strategic Management. He served also as the Chairman of Ethics Committee of KMCH, Coimbatore. He loves Tamil literature and addressed in many forums.
